1 what have been the major contributions that canada has made to resolve the conflict in darfur? how significant do you think they are?
2 would you support canada's participation in a UN military mission to halt the conflict in darfur? would you support the withdrawal of canadian troops from afganistan to take part in such a mission?

هيدا جواب من شان السؤال الاول, ان شاء الله يكون بيساعد
question 1:
'Canada is at the forefront of international efforts to promote peace in Sudan, and Darfur in particular. Canadian airlift and other assistance was vital to the operation of the African Union Peacekeeping Force in Darfur, which has now been replaced by UNAMID, the African Union-United Nations hybrid mission
'The major Canadian contribution will alleviate malnutrition, and increase access to water, education and health services in communities welcoming displaced persons in Darfur and across the rest of the country. It will also
improve the security of the Sudanese by supporting demining efforts
Canada's goal is achieving genuine progress on peace and human rights in Sudan, as well as addressing the humanitarian and early recovery needs of the Sudanese people. This assistance is a concrete means for Canada to advance those objectives. Assistance is channelled through international organizations such as the UN system and respected non-governmental organizations.
Security
Canada will allocate up to $71 million in voluntary support for the UNAMID and UNMIS peacekeeping missions in Sudan. This will include up to $40 million from Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT) to provide equipment, training and logistical support to African troop-contributing countries in UNAMID.
Aid
Canada, through the Canadian International Development Agency, will provide up to $100 million in humanitarian assistance, early recovery and
governance to address the needs of the conflict-affected people of Sudan
Canada has pursued two separate but closely woven threads: pressing for both sides to sign the long-pending comprehensive settlement to the southern conflict, and arguing for substantive improvement in the situation in Darfur through a) humanitarian assistance, including protection activities, to alleviate the worst of the suffering; and b) supporting political negotiations to end the conflict.
Canadian assistance is channelled through organizations such as the United Nations World Food Programme, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and UNICEF, as well as non-governmental organizations such as the Canadian Food Grains Bank, the Canadian Red Cross, Save the Children, the International Committee of the Red Cross, Oxfam, CARE and Doctors Without Borders.
Recently the Government of Canada, through CIDA, provided $1 million to help the United Nations strengthen its efforts to protect and promote the human rights of civilians affected by the ongoing conflict in Darfur, in Western Sudan.
Canada believes that the international community must maintain pressure on the Government of Sudan and other parties to peacefully end this conflict in Darfur, and to continue to urge the Government of Sudan and the Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement to sign a comprehensive agreement.
